The remake of
The Blob
gets a lot of credit for having a kid get killed. That was probably Frank Darabont.
Been a while since I've seen it, but I seem to remember that one of the horrifying dream sequences in
An American Werewolf in London has Nazi monsters gunning down a whole family.
You might also want to check out
The Changeling (1980)
, which has kid murder in it.
There's also
Robocop II
.
Antichrist.
yup. When
Anthony Wong gouges out that kids throat with a broken bottle and then butchers like 3 or 4 small children with a huge cleaver, my jaw was on the floor.
Ugh. I feel like an idiot for not thinking of that one, especially considering I watched a little over a month ago, and consider it one of the 20-25 greatest films I have ever seen.

Oh, and
Let the Right One In
.
Most jaw-dropping sequence in the whole movie.

Re: Children being killed....
Do zombie children count? If so, I'm sure there's countless occurrences of children getting killed in zombie movies.
The original
Dawn of the Dead
comes to mind.
The scene towards the beginning where the black dude shoots the two little zombie kids.
Why the hell do you love seeing children getting killed, especially graphically? Being a father, I know it'll break my heart, so I can't think of any other reason than you being a psychopath. Also dismayed to see all the "recommendations".
WTF? Only I feel this way???!!

I'm not a father, and I don't like children. I especially hate overly cutesy kids they put in movies, and enjoy being shocked and seeing taboos broken. It's not like I want to see kids die for real. I have seen a real person die in front of me (not a kid) and it was horrible.
If that makes me a psychopath, so be it, but it would seem there are plenty of psychos posting on this board if that's the case.
EDIT: also, given that we've both rated close to 2000 films and have only 266 in common, I think it's fair to say we have pretty wildly divergent tastes.
EDIT 2: I just noticed this week's blog is a discussion about this thread! Very cool.

same here, reason why I love
Once Upon a Time in the West
but hate it when it feels gratuitous
case in point:
Hostel II: pointless/out of place scene as Sasha blows a kids brains off just to display his badassery, wtf
