The greatest battle shounen. The central quartet is extremely likeable, the villains some of the best in anime and it's about as gorgeous as you can expect a 112-episode anime to be with that beautiful gritty dated cel animation look and a horror aesthetic that is completely incongruous with the lighthearted tone of the series but also totally badass. Just as Kuwabara is a man among men, Yu Yu Hakusho is an anime among anime.

Watched the whole series back in high school. Don't remember a thing except that I liked it very much at the time.

RVW this better. A1 73.375 liked/loved how it got going, even more now. db/thoughtful fights. A2 80 baba/db. A3 80 off momentum/character dynamics but worse cuz some villains. A4 80 love how arcs start/mini ones like this set up. A5 83.56 better than all db/z tourneys put together but end meh then made up for even though he didnt come back. A6 80 but a lot of meh i'd skip/speed up. like some psychics, some of the villains, and maybe even some sensui. A7 87.78 the end+tourney is a 90. weighted

Enjoyable fighting or shounen anime if you are familiar with that term. Has some great fights, good villains, great core group, and a light hearted air. The final third or so of the anime loses some momentum, but the ending of the anime is both different than other fighting animes I've watched, but also very satisfying at the same time.

First two arcs were great fun and packed with action and excitement, but the series started going downhill during its third. At least it had the good grace to end before things got too out of hand, which is more than I can say for pretty much every other long-running shounen anime.
