You're the Worst

Rating based on the first season.

Rating based on the first half a season or so, which could be funny but honestly was a bit too misanthropic and unhappy for me. I've read glowing stuff online; I may go back and rewatch at some point. If I do I'll re-rate it here.

Didn't hit its stride until mid season 2. But it gets pretty addictive. This is all in spite of its didactic "this is factually how relationships work" moments.

Rides on the novelty and the loveability of the 4 main characters which peaks early and barely develops. Watch the first half of S1, stop and you'll be happy, imagining what could have been. S2 is a burning dumpster fire of a series; painfully blunt attempt at making depression interesting and the episode with the English family one of the worst episodes of anything I've ever seen.

Season 1: 73

Honestly my all time favourite romantic TV show. Even though it's been called the anti romcom show. Its fucking hilarious meta and "real". Both characters are so flawed and broken yet they find solace in each other -sometimes- they are truly terrible yet you root for both of them because through all the filth and chaos you see can that the terrible things they do and say makes them more human than anyone else. Scared of love and life yet soldiering on in the unknown reluctantly together.

This is too much about sex for my taste - actually it seems to be only about sex, at least in the two first episodes, and I would suppose this contionues, otherwise they would disappoint those who liked the start of the show.
