Gets increasingly better as it becomes increasingly more surreal and shifts more toward drama from comedy. The psychological aspect of the show is where it is strongest and is at times quite amazing but some of the episodes in between the main plot points are not very engrossing.

Quirky and likeable with a touch of the surreal. I loved the tone/feel of this show. There's a lot of variations on the same few jokes, but it's still funny enough and Gann/Wood work really well together. I think the whole "let's solve the mystery of what Wilfred really is" thing that they did in the last few seasons was a mistake, but it doesn't get in the way of what makes the show work. Don't bother with the AUS version, it's a lot more one-note and not nearly as good.

I can see how the premise would be funny, but just couldn't keep my attention.

This show has one of my favorite pilot episodes of all time, but unfortunately the rest of the series is sort of frustrating and the finale left me pretty nonplussed.

I stopped watching a few episodes into the second season. My main issue is that most of the humor comes from the dog, who I found very annoying most of the time. Although I suppose it's worth checking out.

Wilfred is a surreal comedy that occasionally veers away from comedy altogether into solid drama territory. The comedy aspect never really resonated with me, I found Wilfred way too annoying (Gann does a great job though), but it was a nice counter-balance to exploration of mental health issues and the daunting task of hiding them. Wood is great throughout. The series has a good conclusion, and toys with the reality of the premise to the end.

Made it 5 episodes in. If you like dog jokes and find weed funny, you might like this. I enjoy nether. I find the mere sight of the titular Wilfred to be infuriating, the most annoying on screen dog since Scrappy Doo.
