Welcome to Wrexham

I'm a massive soccer fan, and have been a Ryan Reynolds fan since "Van Wilder", so this is an easy sell for me. Every soccer fan has wondered "What if I won the lotto, which team could I buy? Would I be a successful owner?" And you get to learn a bit about Wales too, so it's culturally educational.

It's easy to get the impression that professional football is just spoiled millionaire players and glory hunting fans with no connection to their clubs, because that's what you see at the very top. But most football isn't like that. Welcome to Wrexham highlights that there is a world in a lot of our backyards where football clubs and the community they play in are deeply connected. And it's a beautiful reminder.

I put this on expecting shits and giggles.. Really enjoyed the first season, then came season 2… WTF! I cried in almost every single episode, loved the ride, jumped on my sofa when they scored.. Such a great narrative they created here.. What a documentary show.. Not a simple job, doing that..

Loved getting to know real people from a North Wales town. A bit cheesy at times with polished bits. Interesting looks on blowback from celebrity funding. Overall very nice job documenting a good hearted journey.

A really neat idea. They really handled this perfectly, in focusing on the community first and foremost. It's also fascinating to see how a sports club is actually run, though I don't imagine this is typical of the average team. Also, how does Rob have time to do anything??

I love inside looks at sports stuff. This is a great look at the impact a sports team can have on its community.
