Guadagnino manages to invoke sympathy and empathy for characters that in most cases would be annoying, but these teenagers don't seem to be written by middle aged men. They're messy, intense, stupid and sincere completely by their own rules. The form is a big success for me: the stylistic restlessnes is intruiging and the needle drops simply perfect. Sevigny as a lesbian army base commander and struggling parent rocks my boat, you just don't want to miss out on that. Love the character Fraser

Overall thought it was good- character development was on point.

Guadagnino's obtuse stylistic flourishes are spontaneous and disorienting; the characters are messy and unpredictable. Sometimes this combo makes for frustrating drama, but when it aligns it makes for some of the most creative, expressive TV I've ever seen. The atmosphere of the series is totally unique in any case.

It honestly took to long to reach a level for things changed emotionally for the characters and by the time it did I just couldn't get past all the jarring visuals and lack of cohesion within a plot that dragged on for 6 nearly hour long episodes before something big and resonating finally happened in the 7th episode. It is well acted, don't let the writing and pacing issues fool you into thinking this cast isn't capable. All these actors have done or will do amazing things. Just not this.

Rambling, disorganised mess of ideas and characters; this 8-parter feels like the extended rough cut of a leaner, more tightly focused 4-parter. Has some intriguing story threads which are teased at but never explored (especially how the Trump-Clinton election might be viewed through the eyes of the military) and a wide range of interesting characters, instead devoting too much of its time to its two noxious and unpleasant leads, though Grazer and Seamón do their best with what they are given.

Extremely well filmed and imagined, but it lacks substance. The character development is well done, but the writers didn't know what to do with them next. It's watchable if you don't mind slow pacing and thematic elements that are either shallow, unclear or missing. The series just builds and is very unsatisfying when you realize that it's not building up to anything at all. This doesn't sound like an inherently unappealing concept, but ultimately the writing fails and is terribly listless.

It's like a monotonous shit version of "Euphoria" where nothing happens. Nothing.
