The writing fluctuates between very good and Lifetime-movie. Dever turns in a grade A performance, but a few high points don't prevent this series from feeling heavy-handed. Maybe heavy-handedness is what is needed at this time, and kudos to the creators for seeing that this project got made.

Well acted mini-series works best as a police procedural ala ZODIAC, spotlighting Collette and Wever's obsessive hunt for their perpetrator cleverly contrasting with Dever's PTSD wracked victim. It's a shame that much of the screenplay is painfully (and cringe worthingly) on the nose when trying to weave in social commentary, with Collette especially hung out to dry with some thudding exposition. A mixed bag, but worthwhile to see Wever given a front-and-centre role.

This was excellent, binged it all in one go. It is done with sharpness but also a lot of compassion for the victims, without exploitation. Merritt Wever is absolutely amazing, but I can say the same thing for Kaitlyn Dever and Toni Collette. This is an important show about how the system treats the topic of rape and how it can revictimize the victims. And also it's extremely true to the real heartbreaking story. This all happened. Let that sink in.

Sort of has a British detective show feel without actually being British. It's got a good cast, I'm glad to see actresses like Kaitlyn Dever and Danielle MacDonald getting more and more good roles. Some of the dialogue could be tightened and certain scenes feel like they go on longer than necessary. It could probably be an episode of two shorter but remains engrossing regardless. The mother and daughter from Patti Cake$ are both in this, that's pretty cool. Excellent handling of feminist theme

Perhaps the most important strength of this series is the criticism of justice, especially in a male world. An engaging and sometimes tearful story with the right representation of different characters. And of course Toni Collette was great as always

Very interesting, sad, and eye opening about the reality of how the system sometimes fails those who rely on it. A true story which keeps you guessing, unsure of what’s true along the way, but helps you to see the challenges on both sides of a story like this.

Really wonderful show. While keeping you on the edge of your seat, this show also forces the viewer to reflect on what it must be like to be assaulted in this manner and go through what she goes through. And that's a terrifying path and makes you root for good even more.

Emotional, powerful movie with perfect performances. A lot of true crime series are full with empty episodes, filling up a quota, but in Unbelievable every episode was engaging and had meaning.

Based on true events, it tells the powerful story of a young woman's struggle for justice after reporting a sexual assault. The performances are exceptional, with Kaitlyn Dever delivering a standout portrayal. The writing is sensitive and thought-provoking, shedding light on the complexities of trauma and the flaws of the justice system. While the pacing may lag at times, "Unbelievable" remains an important and compelling watch that demands attention.

Respectable and very well made look at the aftereffects and investigation into rape. I'm all for equality but the social commentary and girlpower certificates were laid on too transparently. There's an abundance of annoying assertive female characters (Collette starts very poor but redeems herself when she chills out) and most men are portrayed as 60 iq doofuses - overcompensation at its finest. Kaitlyn Dever is a sleeper star, fantastic acting and by 10 miles the best actor in the cast.

This was one of the last good Netflix series to come out. I wish it were more popular given the importance of its themes.

A wonderful well acted mini-series which feels a little long but details the true story of a sexual assault victim, the failure of law enforcement, and the success of two detectives to find a serial rapist and bring some justice on behalf of "Marie" and the other victims.

A rare crime show more interested in the story of its victims than it's the villain. Introduces a much-needed empathetic approach to a genre that has become too obsessed with intellectual counterplay up to the point of being utterly insensitive to its characters. Great acting by all the leads and good chemistry between the detective duo. Enjoyed every minute of it.

I enjoyed the series but had trouble identifying with the character of Marie. Merritt Wever and Toni Collette were excellent casting choices. Even though based on a true story, the writing was good and each episode was a solid contribution to the series. The final conclusion was satisfactory except that they never got into the perpetrator's computer. Overall, for a cop drama, it was interesting and worthwhile.

This was good. It was interesting to watch this back to back with "Mindhunters". Great cast, timely subject and very good execution. Kudos to Netflix for making this show happen.

Captivates you with one of the best openings of TV history and yet it fizzles out. Turning into a standard detective mystery with especially overuse of rape scenes.

Stellar acting performances, players who resemble people I'd run across on the street rather than models fresh off the runway, and a powerful and at times heart-wrenching story combine to make "Unbelievable" about as good as it gets.
