This one is truly annoying in so many ways: the constant close-ups of feet, the zoom-ins (and outs), the goofy music and monkey masks and guns that never hit anything. And the utterly senseless premise and sheer plotlessness of it. 3 goofballs get hurled away from a volcano into the future, where they meet up with the Japanese Eddie Rabbitt and eventually make their way back...somehow or other. You will also never see so many ambushes in your life (seriously, there was 1 every 3 minutes or so).

A movie about apes, made by apes. The editing, (voice) acting and ape designs are below average. MST3K was just perfect for this, hilarious

Besides its incomprehensible ending this is a rather fun romp on the Planet of the Apes through the distorted lens of the Japanese. Sandy Frank did a fairly good job chopping a TV series together into a coherent single movie considering the source material. Hell if I was a kid growing up in Japan I'd watch it, wouldn't you? [MST3k found some choice material on this one. Japan seems to bring out the best in our boys and this is no exception. An overlooked classic.]

'I don't care!' The plot is ludicrous and totally employs a deus ex machina to resolve the largest problem for the main characters. It's just awful. MST3K makes it decent, but even then it dragged a bit.
