It was strange seeing David Suchet in this as a different character. I'm not really that big of a fan of Ustinov's Poirot and I find his Poirot too pompous and silly for my liking. Another strange thing about this adaptation was that it takes place in a modern setting.

Box Obras-Primas Agatha Christie Volume 1.

Aggressively mediocre except where it's randomly weird, with a modern setting that only seems to have happened because they ran out of money for period props. Ustinov is fun as ever, of course, and David Suchet is a delight, even more so if you're familiar with his Poirot. But this fails to make the mystery coherent and fails to give us other reasons to care.

Not sure if real life Poirot would make sense of this mess.

One of the more cohesive of the Ustinov Poirot's sadly suffers from being one of the more predictable. In spite of that, there's a lot of good humor and it's nice to see Poirot working in England for once, and, as usual, against a bunch of nutty Americans.

Mediocre Agatha Christie book receives mediocre treatment. Peter Ustinov plays his typical interpretation of the Belgium detective (English style) and Faye Dunaway is, not surprisingly, annoying over the top. My only motivation for finishing it was the hope that maybe she'd fall down a flight of stairs and lapse into a coma.
