Typical teenager-romance mixed with a not so exciting plot. I'm watching it because it's interesting to see how they try to make this "society" work, but to be honest it felt like I'm skipping at least 1/3 of the show because there's so much lackluster "teenager-drama".

The exciting premise does almost all the heavy lifting here. Overcoming the problems of forming a new society without adults is a very rich and intriguing starting point for a story. It's a shame that it is used for something as mediocre as this. The camera work is especially shoddy. None of the characters really make that much of an impression. The psycopath storyline and the moral quandaries have some merit, the rest of the script is forced drama and tropes galore. Acting is believable-ish.

There is a lot of filler to make the show feel like more of a complete series and to add potential for more storylines. The end of season one tipped the hand that this is a science mystery and also ruined the idea of these kids being isolated and having to make their decisions. It will take away from how far they have changed and make it a mystery as to why this all happened. How they survived is more important than why they have to. Focus on what worked. Stick with the isolation story. Build it
