The Sex Symbol

A mildly fascinating period curiosity. It's unmistakably a 70s TV movie in look and feel--and an especially lurid, cheesy one--yet it was apparently padded with extra footage and nude shots for European theatrical release (!). Mostly lousy acting, though the men fare a bit better than the women. Stevens alternates between a pouty Monroe imitation and hysterical addict, apparently working under the assumption that Patty Duke's Neely O'Hara was just too restrained. Winters is just plain bad.
