The Runaway

Part of the "Hallmark Hall of Fame" series, this made-for-television movie combines murder mystery with coming-of-age drama. Growing up in the segregated south, Luke (Cody Newton) and Joshua (Duane McLaughlin) overcome societal prejudice to become best friends. When their youthful antics lead to the discovery of a racially motivated triple-homicide, local sheriff Frank Richards (Dean Cain) vows to get to the bottom of things.
