Phase 4's been a huge disappointment & these series are a big reason. This is 1 of the better ones, but the Falc as Cap comic was far better. This is uneven & too long at just 6 eps! The film-worthy opening scene practically blows the entire budget & you know the action's going to suffer for awhile. This isn't that Woke but makes sure to appease the mob by having the well-connected Falcon unable to get a bank loan because racism & the vague "Do better" ending is H'wood at its most insufferable.

Despite being far less innovative than Wandavision, a part of me prefers this show because it feels coherent throughout its run. I like the filmmaking a lot, and the focus on mental health and the complicated way Black people view symbols of Americana were valuable new additions to the MCU.

This is unfathomably boring. While there is occasionally a decent fight scene, most of the action is stock quick cut garbage and the screentime typically consists of bland dialog making moronic attempts at politicizing Captain America's symbolism or tepidly touching upon other issues. It doesn't help that the pacing is a total slog, the music choices are ham-fisted, and it boasts the bland Hollywood stylization that has bored me for years, which is somehow particularly egregious in this show.

It could be named "Serum Envy" as a series. It took off very slowly, the main story has potential but it is not very Marvel-y; so it didn't work well. Carter, Kari both were underdeveloped. Zemo kind of saved the whole thing in the beginning and then there was chemistry development between Bucky and Falcon towards the end; so it ended on a high note. I don't think they will do a second season though; it started on a very thin ice as it is.

I like this idea of filling in back story with a longer take. It gives a story more air than a movie could. Maybe too much in this case. Still, the Anthony and Sebastian Show (with special guests Daniel and Emily) passed the time nicely with me.

There’s a lot I do like - all the mains nail the roles given to them and it’s probably the most objectively brutal out of anything I’ve seen just for Disney+, but its failing is not allowing The Falcon as Cap to be anything more than a bridge to another show or movie or special or whatever the hell. It has no core integrity or identity, and then pretends it’s the monologue at the end. We know it’s not.

The show has some great moments but suffers from pacing & balance issues with regards to its plot throughout its 6 episode run. I liked the way the show dealt with race relations and Sam's attitude & reluctance on his journey towards becoming Captain America. I liked the socio-economic consequences of the Snap, though the individual members of the Flag Smashers were unconvincing & underdeveloped. Bucky was great. Zemo & Carter seemed inconsistent. A little all over the place, but enjoyable.

I am not sure I want to watch this series again. The story is a bit messy. The fact it isn't clear who is good/evil should have been more intriguing than confusing. Flag-Smashers are like "Are they calling us terrorists?!" wtf do you expect, you are violent and wear a mask to cover your face! The final speech of Cap is ok, but... Something at the end brought me to scratch my head and think "Ok Cap, I agree with you... so what would you do?". Anthony Mackie is an amazing Cap anyway: super cool!

*GOOD* - Mackie and Stan have amazing chemistry. - Walker is one of the more thought-provoking characters to come out of the MCU. - Lot of homages and respect to the history of the title. *BAD* - Zemo kind of just fizzles out. - The Flag-Smashers seem to be just there, and are a lot less sympathetic than the writers gave them credit for. - Character relationships seemed inconsistent and can change wildly from one scene to the next.

After the refreshing WandaVision, we get a follow up to the ending of Endgame by seeing what happens with the new Cap. Aside from episode 4, which contains one of the darkest moments of the MCU (excluding Netflix), it’s a bit underwhelming. It would’ve likely been better as a 2h movie. While getting some development for Bucky and Sam is nice, Karli is a bit bland, and the tackling of racism would’ve been better if it focused more on Sam as a black Cap America, rather than the usual stuff.

While better than the experimental failure that was Wandavision this is still pure filler material in the MCU. The series takes a small but important moment from Endgame and decides to (deliberately) abandon it only to end up back at the very same point at the end of the 4 hr plus tale told across 6 episodes. Filled with B List characters and mediocre performances, a lot of padded in subplot and a generally bland main storyline, I could only recommend FatWS to hardcore fans.

Not terrible, some decent action wrapped into the spy genre with the large Marvel history to back it, means there is something for MCU fans. It still feels a bit weak though. I will stick with it for now.

Tries to paint literal terrorists as good or misunderstood for the entire series, and then gives a big ol' racism lecture at the end just for good measure

You gotta do better, Feige! Or eventually there'll be another superhero multiverse like yours, and your audience will be jumping ship the moment they realize their story's ask real questions of their audience rather than just spoon-feeding them empty status quo propaganda.

The attempts at politics are shallow and down right offensive. You can tell the incoherent ideology of Disney producers influenced this series. And it does a good job reminding you how bad of an actor Anthony Mackie is.

I actually really liked The Falcon and Winter Soldier. It's admittedly a bit messy, but then again when isn't the MCU. I think the show does a decent job at having Sam wrestle with taking on the identity of Captain America and Bucky wrestling with his past. For as many things are going on for these six episodes it can feel a bit rushed in places, but I thought it did a good job of showing the path that Falcon takes to become Winter Soldier, while also expanding the MCU.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier certainly has a ton of fun moments. It is very much let down by assuming that Sam still needed to earn the shield. I wanted Sam's Captain America from episode 1.

I have so many issues with this mess of a series. It's still fun, and I especially liked the Winter Soldier centric stuff, as Sebastian Stan plays an interesting role that we haven't had a chance to see before. I could do without the idealists preaching to me about the state of the world, or the attempts to feel sympathy toward a group of cold-blooded terrorists. I especially hate the nonsense surrounding Emily VanCamp's character, as I wonder how any of that makes sense under scrutiny.

Starts with a strong episode and slowly devolves into mediocrity. Strong performances and potential for a great narrative are marred by cloudy writing, bland action sequences, and some logic leaps. Flawed but, pushes the franchise towards a more responsible and grounded take on superheroes

I think there's some solid action in here, and some of the drama is well done, but I think it gets a bit overly talky, and slows down sometimes a bit too much. I get what they were going for, and in the end the conclusion is satisfying, but some things don't always work perfectly.

Not too much ground to hold on to here, but at least this is the one that is most rooted in the general MCU concepts. A few key points are made here and there, but overall not that amazing.

Well definitely not as bombastic and climatic as most of the MCU, Falcon/Winter Solider offers a lot of what Marvel doesn't do anymore. It's smaller scale leaves more room for character growth and story arch's. This might not be the most thrilling and creative of the MCU's work, but it definitely has some nice twists and ideas that give it a sense of fulfillment when the credits roll. It's attention to it's current world is interesting, leaving me pretty pleased all around.

Roughly 50 of those point are awarded directly to Zemo, who is not only the most enjoyable character, but is also solely responsible for moving the plot along in the third and fourth episode. And, much as it pains a Sebastian Stan fangirl like me to admit it, Daniel Brühls acting is running circles around both him and Mackie. Now where is my Thunderbolts spin-off?!

It's likable if you have been following these characters for years. The plot is very simplistic with the way it plays out and there aren't really that many twists that are thrown at you. Sam Wilson and Bucky both continue to be interesting characters with a little more depth given to both of them here. It's a serviceable story within a larger more detailed plan moving forward.

This was incredibly messy. It tries hard to do a lot and succeeds occasionally. They should have cut out the power broker, purple haired Elaine, and most or all of Zemo, USAF sponsorship or rewrote/re-cast/re-shot those parts, maintained the more serious tone and focus on the main characters. A rewrite could have gone for more of a 70s spy paranoia/cold war feel, with fewer but better fight scenes, dialed down superhero stuff. Episodes ranked from excellent to terrible: 4, 5, 1, 2, 6, 3

Good intentions manhandled by mediocre writing and direction. The whole structure is buttressed by a big budget and good actors doing their best. The only parts of this that actually stands firm on their own are Wyatt Russell's character (who's arc ends up muddled) and Isaiah Bradley. The most derelict parts in this is everything to do with the Flag Smashers. Interesting concept handled with no grace whatsoever, but the worst is the action which is poorly edited and directed most of the time.

I love superhero stuff and the fact that this made me care about two characters I wasn't especially fond of (more so Falcon, Bucky was cool in Winter Soldier) is an accomplishment. Only being 6 episodes helped the pacing. This is about what one might expect from the MCU, but it does try to say some things. Last episode has a couple good emotional beats, and honestly, I liked seeing VanCamp again because I love her.

Fun, compelling and surprisingly stylish. Skogland’s direction is not to be sniffed at, and Marvel attempting to tackle difficult social issues is at the very least admirable. It’s unravels much of its hard work in a low-key final episode that perhaps sets up the series themes with a little too much simplistic aplomb. Bruhl is undoubtedly the series highlight. Likeable, but could have been more.

Normal Marvel problems notwithstanding, (shoehorned action, bad humor, plug-and-play plot melodrama...) The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the best television show that Marvel has made since Jessica Jones. The characters are still super strong and holy hell the writers are trying to tackle racism, might be a bit oversimplified, but they are trying.
