While there are many interesting things here, it frequently feels unjustifiably voyeuristic, obsessed with Warhol's sexuality, and fixated on those issues of the moment represented by words like "power" and "privilege". The last episode complicates things somewhat, both in terms of the attitude to the diary itself and the presentation of biographical and aesthetic questions, but these complications should have rebounded upon the approach of the filmmakers at a deeper level and from the outset.

A very interesting and modern look on the artists life. However some things, like racism and the exploitation of trans women seemed slightly underplayed. I was also expecting more differences in opinion between interviewees, in the first episode it's noted that 10 people will have 10 different opinions on Warhol as a person, up until the last episode they all seem unanimous in their opinions, and even then the differences aren't great.

☆ I watched this while I had covid, and this was great. I learnt so much, I love love loved the soundtrack too! It was very sombre, and I felt like an observer. How cool was A.I. Andy? This whole film really humanised him as a person rather than just a symbol, and I think that opened me up to understanding a lot more of his art and impact too. ☆
