This is what Disney Star Wars under Kathleen Kennedy has been building to for years - its final grotesque form. And yet, not even the power of manyyyyyyy could save this dreck from being cancelled.

Wokeness and DEI bs aside, this is shallower, more stupid, and much more cringe than anything you've ever seen before. It's a new low for SW because it just completely destroys the concept of what a jedi is, or "was". They are no longer expert tacticians or pillars of great wisdom and virtue, defined by their patience, understanding, honesty and nuance, instead they literally act like kindergartners, driven by their impulses. I dare you to keep watching the season, it'll only get worse.

So, it ended. It started better than it ended, but it remained mostly mediocre throughout. This is no worse than Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett (which is quite crappier), so I'm kinda shocked to see the vitriol it has generated amongst people who don't seem to be your typical conservatives; this is in line with most other Star Wars shows besides Andor, and its story is super interesting and captivating.

This is exactly what I had thought a star wars tv show would be like when they announced they'd make them. The final product is pretty good and almost great. A lot of the editing and script is just really weak. Still wild to see such negative reactions to this series when the other shows (besides Andor) have had similar writing but also bland stories. And this is not just the usual suspects, but also good faith criticism from people who ignored those things in other projects. Frustrating.

Comes across like a fan film, and turns Plagueis the Wise into a lurking creep. While the basic idea of "greying" out Lucas' black/white morality could have legs through a justified sith/corrupted jedi, this show is just awful and can't make up its mind at all what its own series of events were (inconsistencies) and what it wants to say. Shite.

First episodes tease a Jedi police procedural but it doesn't go anywhere from there, doesn't satisfy or set up intrigue for second season well, the vergence thing is interesting maybe they should show a glimpse of it. Fight scenes have a lot of good energy, choreography. Mae & Osha characters oddly expressionless during several pivotal scenes, doesn't sell character changes. Overall sometimes better and sometimes worse than the Kenobi or Boba Fett.

This is pretty quintessential Star Wars. I don't know what most people's problem with this is (well, actually, I do).

It's fine. It could have been a lot more, it could have a lot less. I don't get the fuss and fury. Is it the women? The people of colour? The Jedi aren't all perfect beings of virtue? At least the lightsabre fights are good, right?

I really loved this show. I love the classic idea of good/evil twins, but I especially loved how this show treated the seduction of the dark side. Star Wars has always made it seem difficult why anybody would go to the dark side, when I've always felt there were a lot of good reasons the series hadn't explored very well. This show also has probably the best lightsaber action in the series. As with most Disney+ shows, it's too short, but I hope it gets a second season!

It has so little faith in its ability to write/direct characters that everything someone does, thinks or feels is expositioned to viewers. Showrunner has admitted that this is a gay fanfic vanity project about herself and her sister. The amount of lore breakage is borderline hilarious. My only points are for Sol, that beautiful poor sod who learned English to be in this project. (But who tf gives a child a lightsaber as a DISTRACTION!) The Acolyte has the power of signaling without the virtue.

The Acolyte is a series that, from the very first minute, shows it knows exactly what it wants to be: a story with its own soul within the Star Wars universe. Set a hundred years before the prequels, it opens up new territory where mystery, corruption, and the balance of the Force are at stake. The result, while not perfect, is surprisingly solid: strong world-building, well-defined characters, and a pace that keeps you engaged from start to finish. It’s easy to binge. Beyond the plot, what has

The writting is a little weak and it certainly isn't classic Star Wars. It softens the dark side quite a bit from other cinimatic portrayals and is more in line with pervious works - like "KotR". Life & morality is complex. The failure of this show is that it doesn't explore that at all, it obscures its own narrative until the final half of the season. There's barely any intercharacter conflict until it's all dropped in the final scenes of the last episode.

While no Russian Doll season 1, this was an extremely promising show -- massive shame to lose it. Easily some of the most interesting settings, best world building, and notable new characters introduced in the universe in the past many decades. Crazy that some people are so mind-poisoned by bigotry and scared of all things non-white that they felt threatened by a show as easy to watch as this.

The best Star Wars TV series so far, with Andor S1 as a close second. It does not deserve the hate it has received and it definitely deserves a second season. Interesting takes, lots of fresh and interesting new characters and great production value. Cool storyline and every episode is good or great. So much better than the boring mediocre drivel that is the Mandalorian and Ahsoka. One of the best things Disney has done for Star Wars (which as a statement is not saying much, but still).
