I'd never heard of Temple Grandin before, but she's clearly an extraordinary person and I'm glad I got to learn about her in this film. The way in which autistic people think differently to other people is really interesting, and I liked how they showed it. Claire Danes was very good in the role - I soon forgot it was her. It's fairly typical in terms of biopic films, but I emotionally affected and never bored, so I call it a success.

Inspiring, powerful, emotional drama based on the real life of a Temple Grandin, whose mother courageously refused to accept what the medical establishment told her and in so doing helped her daughter to find a life of her own. Winner of 7 Emmys, including Clair Danes for outstanding lead actress and Julia Ormond and David Straithairn for supporting actress and actor. "Temple Grandin" is exceptional among movies made for television (an HBO production).

Aside from being a good portrayal of an important topic, it’s also well paced, and has a superb lead performance from Claire Danes. Pretty good for a TV Movie.

This movie is always at the periphery of my thoughts on any given day, relatable to something in some way. It's really memorable and special. Says a lot and isn't saccharine & corny like these sorts of films usually are.

Well done and entertaining movie, but an incredible performance by Claire Danes. She did win the Golden Globe.

"I'm like Nikola Tesla or Thomas Edison, I know my system will work 'cause i've been through it thousand times in my head." (Temple is a professor at Colorado State University and lectures worldwide on autism and animal handling. In North America, over half the cattle are handled in humane systems she has designed.)

It's not the best-made or most profound movie ever released, but still I found it wonderful. Lots of tears. I'm on the spectrum -- not a full-blown autistic like Temple, and furthermore she is WAY smarter than me, and more courageous than me... but there wasn't one single thing about her experience that I didn't recognize and understand. A very good presentation on how it actually FEELS to be an Asperger's case.

Touching, but due to practical dramatical restraints the main character was at times not behaving the way you would suspect autist to behave.

It starts off strong with a great introduction to a very lovable character. However, this movie does not really have much in terms of an interesting plot. It more of like a biography/ recount of her life. Still ok to watch, not the best but eh.

More evidence for what I have always known... every improvement to the world has been brought about by geeks. Moving and well-done, a cut or two above standard biopic fare. David Strathairn is especially wonderful as the first teacher to really understand her.

Well-made but fairly run-of-the-mill biopic. Giving it a high rating mostly because of how good a job it does with giving an accurate depiction of how autistic minds work.

To start with, Claire Danes is excellent. Even better, not only does she struggle with the problems of autism, but she must also struggle with trying to work in a society that does not value the ability of women to make contributions. So, an inspiring film. But best of all is the way that the effects of autism on Grandin are shown. Cinema, which like Grandin thinks in terms of sound and pictures, can accomplish something a book cannot.

I was surprised to see Clair Danes performing as an autistic woman. From the beginning she displays her remarkable acting ability by transforming herself into a convincing character. She sees in pictures, and the director did a marvelous job of illustrating that point. Poignant and mesmerizing performance. I highly recommend this movie, but don't expect to find the sexy beguiling Claire Danes we have all come to expect. Catherine O'Hara was also marvelous.

Not bad as inspirational TV movie biopics go with above average acting and a fascinating portrait of a very unique woman. Best segments are about the inner experience of an autistic.

Claire Danes blew me away with her performance (to great surprise). Extremely moving look on autism and how it affects both the people who are autistic and the people around them. Only great fault is that it suffers from the biopic "formula", so you have to be able to look besides that.
