Supergirl is alright as the upbeat girl-power superhero show. The cast is good, but the writing does let the show down; too much filler with mediocre season arcs. The 4th season attempts to focus on discrimination and nationalism paralleling contemporary issues in the US, but mishandles it with overzealous preachiness. The writing nose-dives in the finale season to the insufferable level of empty wokisms, leaving a lacklustre finale for characters we long stopped caring about.

Apparently some people don't like this show? I don't know, I think it's a lot of fun. I really like Melissa Benoist. Not every season has the best stories, but I think Supergirl herself is always really fun to watch and does a great job representing the hopeful vision that we're used to seeing with Superman, but that Superman has been lacking recently. EDIT: The last couple seasons were not good.

Good show. It's finally picked up now on Season 5. Only thing I don't like is that they make Super Girl look really weak when she's the main star of this show. So you should be making her super strong.

I was barley able to get through season 1. The writers only seemed to get it right on a couple episodes while the rest of the season draws on forever. Attempting to eventually get through season 2 for the sole reason of the arrowverse crossovers.

Worse things have appeared on your tele, but this flat, fairly insipid entry runs out of steam shortly after the pilot.

On April 23rd, 2016 I gave this a score of 30. Over time, this has proven to be my go-to guilty pleasure, as the show rapidly matured, unlike its DC peers. With sometimes surprisingly astute parallels with real society, some genuine moments, proper character building and surprising "meanwhile"-episodes (e.g. introducing Lex) that were simply epic. Still, the "humor" is often forced and unnecessary, the acting is Arrowverse-cringeworthy and the series is still somewhat too episodic for my taste.
