Summer of My German Soldier

How I miss the '70's...simpler, more naive times.There's dialogue here that would never pass muster with today's PC police. This is the best work I've seen McNichol do, and her scenes with the wonderful Bruce Davison are truly lovely. Always good to see Barbara Barrie, though her role is a tad thankless, and Esther Rolle is excellent. Also fun to hear Anne Haney's unmistakable voice in the first scene. It's a TV movie, so the points are made rather broadly, but it's a worthwhile 100 minutes.
