Solar Opposites

It feels a bit like extra Rick and Morty to fill in the downtime between season halves, but I started to see the ooh lala factor after 3 episodes. It's got its own thing locked down. I'll probably start to enjoy more as I continue with it.

the entire "human ant farm" sideplot saga was incredible lol

Comparisons to R&M are easily made and a touch lazy, if understandably unavoidable. This really comes in to its own in the second season. It’s beautifully written and voiced and chocked full of interesting ideas.

Solar Opposites' similarity to Rick and Morty is plainly down to Roiland's involvement. The writing is good, with a similar level of wit and cultural commentary, if a little more smutty. The hurdle to overcome however is Roiland's voice acting, which is identical to that of Rick's in a character just as alike.

Less self-important than Rick and Morty, which has major trouble remembering it's just a damn cartoon (and doesn't really stand up to Community).

Definitely hard to separate Rick and Morty from this at first but it definitely has it's own flavor. Some really good storytelling though and consistently funny. Good stuff so far.

Before Roiland left, the alien episodes were okay and the wall episodes were really good. After Roiland left, the alien episodes were okay, the wall episodes were really good, and there were these new Silver Cops episodes which were okay.

Standard Roiland shtick, which (outside of real life) I'm fully pro. Offbeat characters, Zany scenarios & unadulterated nihilism abound. What truly elevates this show though, is the increasingly prominent B story of the tiny people. Should someone ever expand that arc into its own series, I'd happily watch seven seasons and a movie.
