While it, admittedly, served the purpose of being one of those filler shows that me and my girlfriend like to throw on whenever we want to be moderately entertained by something which requires little to no brain activity, it's also, actually, a very decent series with good work from everybody involved, particularly Butterfield.

Appreciate that it is more visually adventurous than it needs to be and has a refreshingly liberal approach to sexuality. The acting is on point and the main characters are compellingly watchable. Unfortunately, the writing and several minor characters embody too many of the cliches of the genre for this to really be something unique. Might not be aiming for uniqueness however. That's fine and I'm absolutely there for season 2. Oh! Gillian Anderson is awesome btw, but you already knew that.

Predictable and easy going trash. Despite this it's hard not to enjoy once you get over how unironically low brow it is with the odd well inspired cultural reference casually tossed into the dialogue.

If for some otherworldly reason you have an itch to watch a teenage comedy, this is bad, but far better than the appalling Never Have I Ever. Literally all of the bad/questionable characters redeemed themselves, except Beau. Very unrealistic most of the time, bordering annoying.

Relationship drama. Interesting Premise. Particular style. The character's dialogue is "idealistic". Very archetypal. The characters act congruently up until the end of S03. There were a few chances missed to make this show one to remember

☆ Yeah, I like the aesthetics and think there was some helpful information in there too. I reckon it's good to be open, but as the series progressed I found it got a bit much for me (as in, the plot literally didn't make sense anymore!) ☆

Utterly charming! I laughed. I cried. The show has great character development, a wonderful soundtrack, fantastic actors, and a great storyline. Season 2 was my favorite.

Although the constant, non ending miscommunication gets boring at times, you can’t stop yourself from loving this show. Three seasons strong, and even the Harry Potter 3rd season was quite fun, with all characters getting deeper.

While definitely slanted towards a younger crowd, it has a good "adult" approach to the subject while still maintaining some silliness . The actors almost all do a good job so you can power through some stereotypes and just turn your brain off. Older crowd may like the "John Hughesian" type feel to everything. Bottom Line, not a Tier 1 show, but about as solid a Tier 2 as you an get.

I love this! It's a fantasy of how I'd love reality to be. Accepting, open, based on communication. The second season somehow manages to be even better. The cast is perfect, with many standouts. And fuck yeah, it's progressive, gimme more of this, please.

The first two episodes aren’t great, although they do have some decent jokes at times. Starting with episode 3, the characters start getting some solid development. And the drama, while cliché at times, is pretty engaging. The series does slowly become less focused, with season 4 being particularly scattershot. Still worth a watch, but I think it should’ve ended with season 3, if not 2.

'Sex Education' is funny, realistic, and isn't in your face about how progressive it is. It handles serious topics with care and even allows comedy in without being ignorant or insulting.

Would've been rebellious or edgy if it was actually set in the 70s or early 80s instead of just dressing like it. This way it's just trendy, brandsafe fan service for college kids. It plays a lot of identiy politics, which leads to some cringe, Especially Jackson being accused of objectifying Maeve by wanting to get to know her better, instead of magically knowing all her feminist favorites was the weirdest thing ever. Very clichéd and highly predictable but done well enough to be entertaining

Holy shit, this is fucking awful!! Not Asa (the only talented actor in the series,) not Gillian (the absolute worst role AND performance of her career,) not even Ezra Furman (who's music will forever be tainted by this show) can save this lop of shit "teen" sitcom/cheap porno. Sex Education, seemingly written by a group of horny autistic twelve year olds, is a colossal shit stain on all three impressive careers. Edit: The second time around is more tolerable. It's not as bad as I first thought.
