I sort of like Eugene Levy, and the writing isn't half-bad, but I don't find O'Hara funny in the least here, and even though Dan Levy and Annie Murphy no doubt nail their respective character types, their characters are undeniably obnoxious. (season 4)

I gave it two and a half seasons. there are no jokes in this. there are no characters. every single person on the show is a blank slate meant to fulfill whatever cheap emotional purpose the writers need filled. it's This is Us for resistance libs in their twenties. it's everything that's wrong with modern TV, though I suppose it does demonstrate that the LGBT+ community is equally capable of producing unwatchable garbage

I like Catherine O'Hara almost as much as I detest Chris Elliott. Eugene Levy and others are tolerable. Annie Murphy is pretty cute. This series has a lot of humor, but most of it is idiot humor. It reminds me a little of the old Green Acres series. Not many laugh out loud moments at all.

I only watched the first episode and the last episode, and that is quite enough for me.

I watched the first season and enjoyed it a little bit, but not enough to continue on. Then I revisited it, starting at the beginning, and fell in love. It's the kind of show where you really appreciate it the more you get to know the characters, so it just takes some wearing in. Overall great series that has a little more heart than it needed.

While it has its moments (mostly just S1), the humor overall is very base. By S2-S3 it just felt like they were specifically pandering to intellectually challenged LGBTQ folks, trying to scoop up all the GLAAD awards. The humor is PC, safe, and very repetitive, while the dramatic aspects are boring and cringe-worthy. By season 5, it completely jumps the shark when it begins to take itself way too seriously. You know your show is weak when Chris Elliott is your only (somewhat) entertaining asset.

Only watched the first episode. Strident and not at all funny.

I watched 3 or 4 episodes before giving up. I don't remember much, but I do remember being thoroughly confused at all the high praise Schitt's Creek was garnering. People were saying how funny the show is, but I remember being surprised at the lack of humor given the way the show was talked about.

Great show that only gets better as you get to know the characters. Kind of like Arrested Development if they had to move to the middle of nowhere and get jobs

Starts on the wrong foot. The characters are caricatures and the storyline is trite. I think it's the fourth season where the show really finds its voice, and becomes this nice tribute to old school sitcoms with some modern twists. Not an all-time great show by any means, but it really becomes heartwarming if you give it a chance -it does help that the episodes are only about 20 minutes long-.

I found the first season a massive slog to get through but am sticking with it in the hopes that it improves drastically. Eugene Levy and O'Hara are the only performers that work for me. I can see the potential in Dan Levy, but he seems to lack confidence in his comedic delivery so far. The rest of the cast hasn't gotten a single laugh, and their characters are all super boring. Chris Elliott is especially unfunny to me, really sucks the air out of every scene he's in.

W4E2P1S0V1M1A2R3. Pretty sure I can't remember a single plot point, but it was addictive and the kind of show where you miss the character's when it ends.

2 seasons so far, and it was a slow start, but it grows on you. It's not outrageous, with most of the comedy coming from sarcasm and wordplay, but it does it well and despite their obvious annoying flaws, the characters are often endearing. It's a solid second-tier binge show so far. Update - Completed series, it really develops into something nice, the show stays true to characters while letting them slowly grow. It won't be for everyone, but those it does capture will love it forever.

I watched one episode and stopped. But came back to it a year later and enjoyed it. The sort of show that grows on you.

It took me awhile to appreciate Moira's vocabulary humor. Eugene Levy is very earnest. The story got simultaneously less silly but more farfetched toward the end. I miss the early seasons of making fun of the town, which was the unique aspect of this show. Ultimately, it's a good background show. Perfect for the pandemic as we felt cooped up inside our homes, much like the Schitts felt inside the motel and their bubble of townspeople.

Rep's been bizarrely inflated in some quarters but I mostly like it fine. Can't argue with its appeal as an extended swan song for, and love letter exchange between, Levy and O'Hara. The sense of play in their work is as strong and infectious as ever. (Though John Hemphill is the surprise MVP as Bob the benign conman.) As for the "pandering" I don't think it's ever as ill-fitting as, say, Brooklyn 99 occasionally gets. The blue-collar-queer material is pretty charming.
