Prisoner of Honor

"No sensible man would allow himself to be sent to war for a politician." Plus ça change... military lying and wagon-circling are apparently eternal. I have heard about this case for decades, and this lively dramatization allows me to feel like I finally understand it. Richard Dreyfuss is good--he keeps his scenery-chewing to a minimum--and Oliver Reed is always a compelling presence. Not much opportunity for Ken Russell's trademark excesses, but there are nice campy touches here and there.
