Watchable mystery oddly buries the lede with Burr's Mason a fairly late addition to the story, as well as being sidelined for the bulk of the action in favour of Katt's handling of the detective legwork. Taken in context as an attempt to marry the sensibilities of MATLOCK and DALLAS within the Agatha Christie framework for 80s TV, this is a professional and enjoyable outing, though the completely (and expectedly) arbitrary nature of the denouement is somewhat frustrating.
