Thanks Charlie Kaufman, for making me watch this. Oklahoma is widely considered to be the most influential stage musical of all-time, and watching this I can absolutely see the DNA of Chicago, West Side Story and Singin in the Rain and almost every other great musical present. Oklahoma didn't just create the formula it also nailed it, with emotions ranging from triumphant to fun & energetic to violent & depraved, and with surprisingly well-realized characters.
