Nostalgia Critic

The poor man's Mr. Plinkett. He frequently makes good points, and he can be funny on occasion, but his skits grow tiresome quickly.

I get nostalgic about old Nostalgia Critic videos, back when they were shot on his crappy mini-DV cam, were 10 minutes long, and crammed with funny reactions to the movie/TV show. Nowadays (after his very brief hiatus), his 40-minute videos are obviously phoned-in and are an embarrassment to watch, not to mention often "segue" to unrelated skits that are a chore to sit through. Still not the worst stuff to be found on the ironically named Channel Awesome, but still dreadful.

My ears literally hurt after hearing his obnoxious screams. Doug is an awful comedian. His reviews are more intent on complaining about films than actually critiquing them and his skits are incredibly cringey. The worst part of it all is that he thinks he's some sort of comedic genius and there's countless people who consistently praise every video he releases, which does nothing but elevate his ego. It's no surprise to me at all that his other attempts at comedies failed miserably.

There is a reason that Nostalgia Critic is Shadow Realm Tier. His review of Pink Floyd's The Wall is honestly the worst thing that I have ever seen in my entire life. I have seen my finger get shattered in a door and blood spew all over my house and that was more appealing than this. In lots of his reviews, he completely misses the point that the directors are trying to make and sometimes it feels like he is giving a review based off of what his friend told him about a movie.

The awful skits and self indulgence completely overpower whatever worthwhile criticism/humour is present

His voice; it pierces deep into my eardrums and makes me double over with pain.

Current episodes are almost unwatchable but I enjoy some of the older stuff. In or out of character, Doug Walker just isn't terribly charismatic and occasional collaborators like James Rolfe and Noah Antwiler outshine him easily.
