When the midnight sun, days of constant sunlight, hits Cicely, Joel uses his excess energy to coach the town's losing basketball team, and a wandering haberdasher pursues Ruth-Anne.

A guilt-stricken Chris falls for a woman whose dog he accidentally killed; Maurice is dissatisfied with an antique clock he ordered from Germany. Ed makes a new friend of the horologist.

A rock musician (played by Adam Ant) accidentally arrives in Cicely, creating quite a stir-up among the locals. While Ed makes a documentary about the visit, Chris has trouble deciding how to put an old friend to his final rest.

A woman arrives in town claiming to be Holling's daughter. Marilyn looks for a new house and asks Maggie to help. A friend of Ed's migrates south.

An old tree near Cicely seems to be on its last legs and the locals enlist Joel to make a diagnosis.
