My Name Is Earl

I've always loved this show even though I know it isn't that great. I really like the cast and as far as sitcoms go the premise and framing device is streets ahead.

I found it funny for about, oh, ten episodes back in 2005. Then its rednecky appeal soured and started to grate on me. Jason Lee does a fine job making the title character a charming ne'er-do-well, at least.

Started well, but quickly became formulaic and repetitive before heading towards inevitable cancellation.

Watched up to S02E08. First season is watchable but it quickly gets tiresome. Not a bad concept for a movie, but as a long TV series it just doesn't work that well.

I hate when low iq hollywood writers make fun of redneck types. Always the same dumb tropes and cliches. It's embarrassing, but also obnoxious. This show is not at all funny, the characters are all insufferable, and the acting is atrocious. Just an overall horribly unpleasant show.

A funny unusual show, that is insanely repetitive. Enjoy a couple of episodes and never go back.

Every time I watch this series I get so angry! It is the funniest (almost family-friendly) dirty, dark comedy ever put on TV! The only thing close to it is Married with Children. And I assume when both were created God sent down an angel from heaven: "Behold I bring unto you great tidings of good TV..."

Watched the pilot and a handful then never bothered again. Bits and pieces I've seen since just seemed more of the same. Remember thinking at the time this was a cartoony kind of US Shameless before Shameless got all cartoony.

Makes a case to parody rednecks and southerners, none of which are particularly funny. The theme of karma is not very interesting nor does the show bother to really use it well to create comedy or drama. Most of the time the show bases its humor around content that is suppose to be disgusting and bizarre, but ends up being flat and uninteresting. It's watchable and nowhere near as unbearable as something like Family Guy or Big Bang Theory, but it's still not very good regardless.

Too erratic to be considered good, it is a third tier show you watch once you have depleted the stock of the upper echelon ones.
