Mr Bates vs. The Post Office

Really well done. Emotional to watch given the audacity and how awful, and what a mess they made of people's lives.

‘Raising awareness’ is overused mediaspeak these days but Mr Bates... brings to the fore a scandal myself and many others knew little about. You can’t ask much more from a modest, dialogue-heavy mini-series - it’s simple storytelling done well and genuinely anger-inducing at times. I doubt an ITV drama has had this much influence on the public conscience for years, and given the real-world impact since, might go down as one of the most important TV series of recent times.
