Identity. Identity. Identity... Oh wait, perhaps if we're a bit more platitudinous and a bit more intersectional about the whole thing, society as well as Hollywood will improve: (Misunderstood Muslim) IDENTITY. (Underprivileged immigrant) IDENTITY. (Marginalized non-white) IDENTITY. (Slightly-evil white) IDENTITY. (Ableist vs. non-ableist) IDENTITY. (Gender) IDENTITY. (Biracial) IDENTITY. (Brown vs. black) IDENTITY. (Avocado-toast-eating white girl with Californian upspeak) IDENTITY...

First season was very solid. Second is on a whole other plane, one of my favourite series of any show ever. Incredibly inventive, creative and relatable. I look at this show as Dev looks at pasta. Say Hello, Wave Goodbye.

This upper-tier half-hour comedy balances jokes and drama/theme unusually well. The penultimate episode of the first season ('Mornings') is a must-see. The worst thing about the show is Dev's father who's painfully unfunny. The second season is about on par, even though I wish that Arnold were in it less. Mastronardi, who plays Dev's main love interest, is hot, though.

Though it often has that listless or apathetic feel so common in hipster shows or movies, it's redeemed by strong characters and some true insight. More importantly, it gets some really good laughs, though it's not completely consistent in that regard. Edit: Season 2 moved more toward the drama, but holy shit is it good. The last two episodes are some of the most effective television episodes I've ever seen.

Some episodes were not as strong as the others, but banger episodes like "Parents" testify why this series won three Emmys and a Golden Globe. Hilarious and very, very human.

Aziz plays a more earnest version of his character Tom from Parks and Rec -complete with laughs and good writing. We need more shows like this.

The great first season is surpassed by the amazing second season. Master of None is funny, moving, experimental and charming. The worst episodes are good, while the best ones are among the best TV made. (2 seasons)

There's a lot of heart here and kudos to Aziz for casting his real life parents as his tv parents. Also depicts a more "real" relationship than most sitcoms/dramas. Eric Wareheim shows that he can still be funny when he's not coming off as mentally disturbed all the time.

Inconsistent but full of heart and charm. I hope to see more. The second season continued to improve on the method. There is more than a little "Louie" here but that is a good thing. Aziz's best work outside Parks and Rec.

Extremely cute, a bit hard to watch, I think I just don't like Aziz? Season 2 was more interesting, it was more focused. Season 3 was confusing, not bad just weird. I stopped there because I don't really want more from it, but it isn't bad.

It just gets so much better as the show goes along. You can see Aziz and crew grow as filmmakers episode by episode

Clearly, Aziz Ansari has tried to make his own "Louie" but it's not even close. He definitely has some political critical side compare to Louie and I find that a bit irritating sometimes. It's not very well written and has some stupid characters in it where you can only find them in some teenager TV shows. Although it is mostly not funny, still watchable and sometimes gripping.

W3E1P0S1V1M1A1R2. Only real positive here is a few episodes that stick with you. But getting through them was more of a chore than I was led to expect by the rave reviews. It's not exactly revolutionary--a sitcom written by an actor about himself as an aspiring actor. He does have some nice insights, though. Probably won't watch the next season unless they cancel a lot of other shows.

[through Season 3] Very uneven. Early on, draws inspiration from "Louie," but it's not as creative or well directed and edited. Has some hilarious high points, but they are also fairly expected because they don't deviate much from Ansari's particular brand of humor. Season 2 is the peak, with some wonderful pathos from the supporting cast. Season 3 is entirely different; a sort of "Scenes from a Marriage" with less convincing writing and character development.

(Post-Binge) It takes a few episodes to get used to Aziz himself, but some of the stale acting from his counterparts never goes away. There are some actually funny and actually poignant moments scattered throughout. Worth the watch if you have nothing else to do.

Compulsively watchable, but as with all these shows about millennial Brooklynites i can't help but wonder what a more penetrating and astute talent like Baumbach or Perry could have done with this material in place of the anonymous craftsmanship of Ponsoldt and Shelton. The actress playing the girlfriend was pretty good, a lot of the other side characters less so.
