Maigret's Dead Man

While still not right for the role, Atkinson is a much better fit this time around.

A forced happy ending ruins a rather convoluted plot which requires some heavy attention to details

Standard sleuth fare with Mr Bean as the lead. Strongest when it pins down the sliding scale of villain throughout the film: murderous mothers, naive dancers, despicable gang leaders, bumbling nice guy caught in the middle etc.

Not the sharpest of detective stories, but I'm liking Rowan Atkinson pleasantly enough as Maigret. Just wish the production had been more ambitious to get a rounder feel of it all.
