We finally get some more insight into Ellie's backstory. There are some really cool visual opportunities there, including the abandoned shopping mall where Ellie goes to hang out with her best friend. I liked the organic realism of these scenes. The stuff at the compound with Joel continue to be a little boring here and the season is starting to lose its steam here.
