I gave this five episodes but it just didn't grab me. I mean, it looks fine, but the story and characters are bog standard shonen stuff. Maybe it gets better, I dunno, but I really can't be bothered to find out when there's so much else out there.

Heard a lot of hype so I checked it out. Appreciated the general lore, the look of it (snowy forests etc), the gore, the training montages and whatnot. But my GOD everyone won’t stop doing these annoying, lengthy mental monologues in the middle of what are supposed to be action scenes (*action freezes* “His strike… it nearly hit me!”) . Hate that shit. Thank god anime-style western shows like Avatar, Korra, Castlevania, Blood of Zeus etc left this terrible trope behind in Japan.

Fun shonen series with not much deeper going on so far (season 1). It's at its best when it comes to the fights, which are beautiful animated, while the fast pacing early on gets us to that material as quickly as we can. It's at its worse when it tries to be funny, as the comedy consists almost universally of people yelling at the top of their lungs and gets tiring quickly. Interested to see where this goes from here.

DNF’d during episode 2 of the Entertainment District Arc. Loved the snowy setting at the start, and the action/animation are excellent. But the characters and story aren’t all that interesting, with mediocre humor that kills both the pacing and the tone. Zenitsu is my prime reason for stopping. While his character is mostly good, his brand of humor (shrieking at EVERYTHING) is truly unbearable. I might finish if there’s a fan edit, otherwise I may just watch the action scenes on YouTube.

I really enjoyed this but found the character Zenitsu unbearable. My rating might have gone up 20 points if his lecherous, shouting attempts at comedy had been left out. Also the last five episodes at Hashira headquarters are a bit of an anticlimax.

26 eps (decent size, if only wasn't so much filler/needless scenes). Animation top class, but, sadly, mostly wasted in an undeserving series. ARRRGGGHHH in part so good with a really villainous villain but in others damn awful soppy, generic & repetitive with one of the most irritating & overdone sidekicks in history entering the tale midway...in short, not sorry I watched but wouldn't watch again, nor will I follow it as it does go on... and on... and on as these pop things tend to do now.

Couldn't finish. The story was blah and the exposition was ridiculous.

Fantastic presentation but it's pretty bad otherwise. The show just doesn't know when to shut up; awkward dialog is constantly being spewed when moments of silence would have benefitted it more. The writing is nauseating non-sense that doesn't even follow its own logic; if Nezuka is capable of maintaining her sanity, what's the point of turning her human? Not to mention it's full of jarring, awful out of place humor, dumb asspulls, and pathetic attempts to garner sympathy for the villains.

It's one of those shows that frequently tries to be funny with stupid hijinks and zany characters but just comes off obnoxious. Choreography, animation and soundtrack are nice though. Maybe I'm just not into shonen as much anymore.

Manga gets a 70. This is truly a case where they adaptation makes the source material better.

Its a great series to watch w/o too much thougts. Its pretty simple in terms of story and tropes. But both plot and animation a bit overrated to me. But still it was one of the best for 2019-20 season.
