But in reality, he has no romantic experience whatsoever when a male student comes to him for advice regarding a crush. Deep down, Kaguya does not take this suggestion seriously, but she still tries on the cat ears and sighs out, "meow." This instance strikes a soft spot of Shirogane, who loves cats. Despite his excellence in academics, Shirogane severely lacks in athletic ability. Which is why he has been tirelessly practicing volleyball after school. Kaguya is sick at home, and a teacher has asked Shirogane to deliver her assignments to her house. After being forced to abandon seeing fireworks with her fellow Student Council members, Kaguya shuts herself up in her dark bedroom. Hayasaka, Kaguya's maid, is worried about her mistress's depressive state. She tries to cheer Kaguya up and when that doesn't work, introduces a plan to sneak out of the family mansion.
