Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert

As an admirer of Jesus Christ Superstar, I found value in the "Live in Concert" rendition. While the staging and most performances hit the mark, it didn't unseat my favorite, the 1973 film version. Nonetheless, it was a worthwhile watch that I genuinely enjoyed.

God. Awful.

Beautifully choreographed and imaginatively staged production. It's difficult to go wrong with this, especially if you are already a fan of the show, but this is still a terrific iteration, with a lively cast doing a first rate belting of the score; only Legend seems a little out of his depth, lacking the stage heft for Christ, though he scores strongly during the more intimate, wounded moments (especially towards the end). Great cameo from Cooper, and Dixon tears into Judas with wild abandon.
