Irma Vep

I'm open to change my mind, but I think Alicia Vikander is an actress without charisma or any sexual energy. Which is what should drive the series. Assayas is a pretty great director as always. We share the same interests in fame/celeb and movie culture.

Am going to give up on this, I think, after one episode. Not because the opening was not fun, but because the associate director (Vikander) casts herself as the femme fatale, and as Sproost says, she is everything a beautiful robot should be! I will update if I can be bothered!

Smart, funny and drawing you in with lovely characters. Even if the cinematographic backdrop were to shomehow fail to fascinate you sufficiently, the performances of Vikander, Macaigne and Eidinger alone would surely be enough to keep you in your seat. That being said, I'm not really over the disappointment that while Vikander simply exudes both class and fun and sexiness in her "normal" scenes, that - strangely enough - fades while she's wearing the catsuit.

Some dysfunctional film set fun at the beginning, but then spins its wheels and fizzles out with no payoff for your 8 hour investment.

Something LGBT happened to all of us. I'm always huge fan of Oliver Assayas' work and I'm living it once again with Irma Vep. Refreshing work about cinema culture and French absurdism, which is I love. Ofc I read the reviews and most authors criticizing movie-shot scenes however that scenes is so much impactful to subtext of Irma Vep. Most importantly, Alicia Vikander is a gorgeous. Her scenes was ate ate ate. And obviously her chemistry between Adria Arjona nearly flawless. Very solid opening
