By-the-beats story of the struggle of (wo)man against Evil Corporation partly based on the real story of Harlan County miners against Duke Energy in the 1970s. There are some odd sub-stories that get tossed in but nothing comes of those; it's really Hunter and her peculiar accent fighting against The (poorly characterized) Man. Skarsgard makes an odd union representative; he only brings one shirt on his trip to KY to wear for the duration. Watch "Harlan County USA" instead.
