Gets progressively better as it goes along and ends up with a last season for the ages, packing emotional punches that almost no other show has ever done. If I were to do a ranking on seasons of television, the last season would rank among the best of the best. As you would suspect, the characters and the actors who portray them are the heart and soul of this show. But it also rocks an awesome soundtrack and some great visual flair. Don't be fooled by the rocky start. Stick with it!

Nerdy first season that converts into a tech-drama to become pure drama in the last season.

It takes somewhere between one and two seasons to see this show's strengths, but it has effective acting and characterization and a subtle neo-noir look. The characters all seem like clichés until situations change, loyalties shift, and true natures emerge. But the way the writers construct scenes grows repetitive, making the show predictable and laborious to watch in places. But that also makes it faithful to its theme: damaged people can't escape other damaged people.

Didn't make it through first season, maybe will pick it up again later. Computer stuff is nice but don't care about the characters.

I saw two episodes (you have to watch the second one to make sure!) and other than the three main stereotypes representing the conflicting reasons for computing advances, this wasn't my bag. If you're the sort that enjoys reading news of the latest tech releases, you might like this stuff.

I found seasons 1 and 3 to be great while 2 and 4 kind of kicked the tires a bit and wasn't sure where to go. Still, the feel of the show is great and you can't beat the soundtrack

TV: A compelling trip through the flourishing computer industry of the 80s and beyond, following those individuals who are driven to chase whatever is just over the horizon. Despite the many thrills charting such an exciting era, the show never skimps on challenging dramatic content. The final season of the show draws together the characters and their intertwined relationships in an affecting and inspiring conclusion to a beloved show. etkileyici başlayıp basit bir diziye dönüşüyormuş gibi geliyor, ama tüm sıradanlığında çok özel dokunuşlar, güçlü bir hikaye anlatma isteği gizli. sezon geçişleri ve sezon içi düşüşler seyircinin takip isteğini bozabileceği gibi, gerçek bir hikayeden yola çıkarak görece yakın bir geçmişe dair tam gaz kurgu gidilmesi de bazen amaçsızlaştırıyormuş gibi geliyor, ama dizinin meselesi hiçbir zaman sadece o sahne olmuyor, gücü de burada gizli zaten.

Relies on nostalgic ah-ha's and the beauty of it's leads rather than decent drama but it's pleasant-enough, easy viewing.

On a plastic level it's good. They nailed the period feel. It's harmless, yet boring otherwise.

Lee Pace is tremendous with every bit of Dialogue you want to believe there is good in Joe MacMillan but he certainly makes it hard to determine. MacKenzie Davis compliments him nicely, countering his business man facade with her punk rock look and her fiesty attitude. It is all about the visions, the information age coming to life and Halt and Catch Fire slows it all down so that each innovation can have its shining moment, while the pressures take a toll on the characters.

Only watched the first half-season. Heard it got better. Will go back and rewatch and then watch the rest when seasons 1 and 2 are all up on Netflix and re-rate then.

Gets off to a rocky start with the first season but becomes a different and more self-consciously pulpy show with the second, improving to the point of becoming one of the best B-grade dramas around.
