Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

Rory Gilmore's just the worst.

Joins Arrested Development and X-Files on the list of underwhelming TV revivals, I'm sad to say. Emily Gilmore's arc is the only thing that works and satisfies across the course of the four episodes. Lorelai's arc feels weirdly stalled (there was no reason we needed her and Luke to have been unmarried for a decade now), and Rory's arc... whew. A "THIS is what they came up with after all this time to think about it?!" disaster.

Really not great especially since Gilmore Girls was so damn good. But this wasn't the worst.

I hate reboots. I like when stories end. Also, they almost never work. This is an exception. Though it's completely unnecessary and even rather predictable, it's nice to see a good series pick up pretty much right where it left off. The palpable absence of one of the series' best assets, Edward Hermann, is frustrating but the writing handles his death fairly well.

W2E1P1S0V1M1R1. I did really enjoy the show, and if this had been woven into the finale of the actual series it would have made for a better final season. But as a standalone excuse to pander to fans, without enough time to really explain all the unlikely circumstances, I'm definitely left with a worse overall feeling about Gilmore Girls than when it last ended.

Si apprezza la prima puntata per l'effetto nostalgia, poi viene presto a noia. Puntate inconcludenti e sviluppo dei personaggi poco credibile. I dialoghi e le atmosfere ancora funzionano, ma non basta. Inutile e fastidioso il cliffhanger finale.

Written with bad dialogue, strange directing, forced cameos, poor story-line, and quite a few filler/cringey scenes like a long musical. Go watch the original Gilmore Girls series, all of it is better than this which seems to be written by two badly out-of-touch writers. This lacks the wit and charm of the original series and adds nothing redeeming. A few smaller characters provide brief moments of comedy.

First was 80, 2nd went to 85 then 90, 3rd went from 90 to 80, 4th went down to like 50-60 then up to 90 then to like 85. I need gilmore girls forever
