Goddamn, Doug has to be the most beta loser I've ever seen. The show is pretty awful in every conceivable way, but I think it gets points for the laughable protagonist who's more fun to laugh at than sympathize with. I don't even blame the bully for picking on him, he seriously makes Milhouse from The Simpsons look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Every time I look at Macklemore I see Roger Klotz.

I never got the charm of this show. Most of the characters felt pretty bland.

While I complain about other animated sitcoms (King of the Hill, Daria...) for not needing to be, I can let it slide here. It's main purpose seemed to be moral instruction for children on issues like romance and bullying and animation's far less likely to trigger those suffering. The art-style suits the brief, there's a clarity and vulnerability in the line. All that said; it was boring as fuck.

If the aim of a children's show was to bore children to death, "Doug" would win.

Fairly ho hum children's fare. Doug is quite annoying and unsympathetic at times.
