It doesn't bode well for the planet when a huge amount of volcanic activity creates chaos worldwide, prompting a team of scientists to gather to try to prevent what seems a near-certain global catastrophe. But Dr. Jake Rollins (Luke Perry) reasons that the cause of the volcanic reactions is most likely due to a secret government operation investigating alternative energy resources from deep within the Earth's mantle.
