Dark Matter

(reviewed at S01E07) Slow burn for first few eps with some clunky exploration of parallel universes and introduction to the way the show's concept works. Asks what would you do if you could see what your life would have been like if you *did* marry the girl when you were 20 etc. etc. But then in later eps starts to get into some deep, dark questions which give it much more depth and substance. Recommended

the theme is fine but not new. so i expected something catchy.

Wrong title, mind bending story, not always the best writing, but really captivating overall.

It's good-ish, some very interesting ideas, spoiled a bit by your typical American cheesiness. Where oh where have all the good screenwriters gone? The final couple of episodes save it, though drama and characterization could have been stronger. I hope to god there will not be a season two because that would suck immensely.

best sci fi show on during its run, had a few cool tricks.

It's a rough first half, mainly because everyone acts dumber than they should. But the second half makes it worth the effort, although the series heavily relies on suspension of disbelief and suffers from a "don't think about it too much otherwise nothing makes sense" effect which is a problem for a show that wants to be profound.

This is a great limited series that wraps itself, and leaves itself open to a season 2 if possible. It's scientifically nonsense, but you can just about suspend your disbelief to watch it without worrying too much. The characters are mostly decent (not outstanding, but then they're just people - they don't need to be outstanding) and the flow of the show is well done.
