Despite being the blandest of Mike Schur's shows, B99 is funny, handles social issues well, and has good chemistry among its cast. I do feel that, like Parks & Rec, its later seasons get a bit boring and long in the tooth even as their quality stays relatively high. The difference between the two is that this never hits the highs like Parks seems to do in the middle of its run.

Yes it's a time-waster. Yes it's a quote machine with a fantastic cast. But it's just so god damn enjoyable. My friends and I have a "game" where we figure out which characters we are. Apparently I'm 75% Peralta and 25% Holt. Makes sense, I love fruit rollups. I got my mom to watch it and she fell in love with Pimento. I'll count that as a win!

A solid sitcom, with comedy derived from the cast of colourful characters and the relationships between them. The Leftist in me wants to dislike this show more for being copaganda, but I have to admit that I had too much fun watching this not to still recommend it.

Not only is the first season an absolute joyride of hilarity, what sets B99 apart from _so_ many of its peers, is that the quality of writing doesn't decline in the following seasons. Only other series I've known to be able to pull that off is Frasier. Nowhere does the series start to feel jaded, repetitive or boring. It only kicks up in RPM as this vehicle of laughter rides further. Edited 4 years later: Oh no.:( Writers opted for woke pandering in the last season. A shame. Rating adjusted.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine's strength lies with its cast and their chemistry. The jokes consistently land, and it is thankfully not bound by our reality, occasionally throwing in some social commentary but mainly focussing on the whimsy.

Think NewsRadio but with concessions to the 21st century -- no laugh track, faster jokes, and more emphasis on the female characters. The difference is that this doesn't really feel of its own time and is more like a throwback to something it has to go out of its way to be. There's some terrific stuff from Terry Crews, as you might expect, and both Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz are very nice to look at. Great guest stars too.

I love Andy Samberg's & Chelsea Peretti's comic timing, the characters are all good and weird, and it's one of my comfort shows, but it's also the best copaganda that's ever been made. F👨🏻‍🚀.

I've always found this to be very in the middle - not groundbreaking, boundary-pushing, or enjoyably edgy with its comedy, nor did it play it safe, sensitive, and annoyingly preachy (at least not until the last couple of seasons, both I couldn't finish). So it never really made me bust a gut laughing, nor did it ever feature any truly atrocious jokes (except last two seasons). Fun mix of physical and dialogue humour, with Hitchcock and Scully probably being the MVPs.

Likeable characters, great opening acts and running gags, solid setup, and good harmony, it touches on real-life deals a lot. Yes, it's not consistent but it has a solid run.

Underwhelming. Seasons 2 to 5 stand out for actually containing some good episodes - that's not to say that the rest don't have funny moments, not least thanks to the charismatic Andy Samberg (the show's saving grace) or the very memorable character of Raymond Holt; however, the identical premise of all episodes becomes tiring really quick, the humour is often just chuckle-worthy at best, the characters are incredibly one-dimensional and the occasional social commentary mostly feels forced.

Great and hilarious despite being copaganda. The rapid fire humor is hit or miss, especially once the characters become parody of themselves a few seasons in. This show is carried by its cast, which saves it from being just random fast food TV. Had many laughs, sad it's over, but glad it ended on a solid note. The finale is a combination of all the things that made brooklyn 99 great. Would have rated it higher if Hitchcock and Scully weren't in it.

Nine Nine! This show is just absolutely hilarious. While there is certainly plenty of filler episodes where nothing particularly interesting happens, the characters are all great, so you really don't care.

What seems like a pretty procedural police sitcom is actually brimming with personality, heart, and some brilliant comedy. The crimes are really merely the set-up to the way all the parts of this weird, sometimes dysfunctional police family interact and it's these personalities that make the show stand out. Talented improvisational comedians like Samberg and Lo Truglio make the one-liners zing and it's easy to fall in love with all the lovable weirdness that is the show.

It is funny and cute and all that, but putting POC characters in a precinct and avoiding sexist jokes still does not change the fact that you are glorifying the American police which rather calls for soooo much criticism.

Seasons 1-5: A surprisingly consistent Schur comedy, that I was happy to get behind. It's pretty funny all the way through and it has the trademark interesting characters. It will never live up to shows like The Office or Parks and Rec, but Brooklyn Nine Nine holds its own and Andy Samberg serves as an amazing lead.

A comedy show that sacrifices everything for on-the-nose, expendable jokes. -- Basically it's the "junk food" of television: It gets very repetitive and stale when watching several episodes in a row, but I come back once in a while to check the new episodes.

This is another little gem from the mind of Michael Schur. It starts off with all of the characters serving their own interests and proceeds to make them into a community that helps its members grow up, open up to each other, and become a fantastic team. And it's funny & goofy AF.

Season 5 - I really like this show overall, this season is not its finest, but its still littered with funny moments. Every member of the cast contributes every time. The wedding plot was a bit of a dead leg for the whole season, but finished with a very funny episode. "The Box" was a great episode, and played to the show's greatest strength, Andre Braugher. Lovely callback to his character in Homicide: Life on the Street. Nine-Nine!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the best single camera sitcoms to come out in years. The writing is quick and clever in every episode. The characters all have their time's to shine and the actors playing them have a talent and chemistry even the most legendary comedies would kill for.

Hands down, the best comedy series in the recent years. All the characters and actors are funny, and the writing just emphasizes on that. I have been a big fan of Andy Samberg since Lonely Island and he just thrives in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Speaking of, I wouldn't describe it exactly as a cop comedy, just a comedy with police settings. Not making fun of particular procedures, but focusing on personal quirks, is what adds to the greatness. Finally, definitely more fitting for Terry than Old Spice.

Sit-com molto divertente, con un'ambientazione originale (per una sit-com) ed un umorismo diverso dai soliti standard, più surreale. Ultima stagione molto celebrativa e con le due puntate finali praticamente perfette. Lacrimoni, mi mancherà.

Funny but frustrating, with solid one-liners and performances but very safe stories that almost go further than they should to avoid taking the police stuff seriously at all (like the whole mystery being explained in a thirty-second end tag, or Andy Samberg being taken hostage by a gun-wielding killer and cracking silly jokes the whole time). Certainly never comes close to achieving the same heights that Mike Schur's previous show Parks and Rec had this many episodes into its run.
