Quantum Leap definitely has the intent to be progressive on civil rights, but this one misses the mark a bit for me. The fixation on the destruction and the dramatization of black-on-white violence was a bit tone deaf. The vast majority of victims in Watts riot were black and killed by cops. It redeems itself a bit at the end with a pretty emotional scene and depicting the cops as the obvious villains they were. Overall a decent episode but I did roll my eyes a bit with narrative decisions.
