More proof that the 80's had SERIOUSLY sucky parts. Good cast, I suspect a great book

It's really f***ed up how this country treated the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the beginning. This movie sheds light on why we can't be so closed minded.

Gripping and tragic tale, well told. Not as essential as the book.

Very Interesting

This movie is a both sad and frightening. It's made even more disturbing by the fact that it is based off of the events in 80's regarding AIDS.

Stellar made for television movie that sheds some light on the HIV epidemic in its earlier stages. Modine is suprisingly effective amongst a very talented cast.

Really interesting film, although a copycat of "Philadelphia". However, whereas the former showed a personal drama, this one here depicts more the struggle of society with HIV/AIDS.

Various aspects of gay life are shown objectively, without sensationalizing. Celebrity cameos are somewhat distracting though most acquit themselves well. The script went through numerous rewrites; director Spottiswoode reportedly objected to HBO interference at the editing stage.

Good Movie

Probably the best movie about the genesis of AIDS in America. Unfortunately that means nothing.
