An uns glaubt Gott nicht mehr

It's the morning after kristallnacht, and young Ferry Tobler's father has been killed. The film follows Tobler as he tries to stay one step ahead of the Nazis, first fleeing to Prague, then Paris, then Marsielles... constantly struggling to gather the money, connections or luck need to find a safe haven. It's a tense and harrowing story but is occasionally undercut by a little too much wordy discourse. But it's strong otherwise, with a good cast and a good deal of tasteful restraint.
