This one goes absolutely nuts in the first ten minutes as a multitude of priests experience every haunt imaginable until all that evil goes into a lamp that gets bought by an old woman who sends it to her sister as a gag just as her freshly widowed daughter and three kids are moving in to stay with her. Wowza, that's a sentence. The haunted lamp plays mean until a priest can track it down and exorcise it by throwing it out a window. There's some details I missed but not many. Actually really fun

Strangely likeable Ballad-of-the-Haunted-Lamp TV sequel offers flatter lighting and tamer scares, but some scarily committed performances led by the indomitable Patty Duke. Reminded me of when my mom locked my sister in her room because she was acting crazy and my mom thought she was possessed. Well actually I thought it would be really cool if my sister was possessed so I asked my mom "is she possessed?" and my mom said "I don't know..." in a way that definitely made me think she was possessed.

Not great, not terrible, just kind of blah. Well, aside from the terrible child actor playing the youngest daughter.

Not that bad considering it's the 4th one and first TV-movie in the series. Script is actually more coherent than in the original ones. You might question why it's made as an Amityville film when it moves to another house as soon as it can, but at least it stirs things up a little. Characters are a bit more polished than usual and (no big name) actors do a solid job. Budget limitations become clear towards the end and the the finale is quite bland, but it's worth a watch for fans of the genre.

After an atmospheric opening replete with the requisite thunderstorm, swarming flies, and blood-oozing walls, this TV sequel quickly degenerates into the usual cliches.
