Aladdin

Successful Disney movie becomes a mediocre animated TV show, blah blah blah, you know the drill.

The last of the Disney Afternoon shows I really have any memories of - I watched Goof Troop a fair bit, Bonkers not often at all, by this point I’d already kind of moved on more to “real” TV shows (being oh so adult at the age of 8, naturally). But I saw it here and there - just kinda an Arabian Nights themed episodic kids fantasy adventure series. I will give it an extra point for having the vast majority of the original film’s voice cast, everyone except Robin Williams if I’m not mistaken.

While some characters can wear a bit thin, there are a good handful of imaginative plots around magic and mythology that makes Aladdin the animated series quite enjoyable.

I think this is worth watching for any fan of the Disney movie. Obviously, it's not as good with Robin Williams not being there to voice the Genie, but you do have the original Aladdin, Jasmine, and Iago voices, so there was still plenty of great talent there and I remember enjoying the storylines.
