The best episode was the one where ALF dated Shannen Doherty from Beverly Hills 90210 and accidentally cooked her when she fell asleep in the oven. The show was co-created by David Milch, who planned to introduce the character of ALF in the third season of Deadwood so that he could finally do all the stories he had saved up during his time working on the show, but Deadwood was sadly cancelled before he got the chance. To this day, ALF remains one of the best alien puppet comedies to ever air.

When I last watched a few episodes of ALF I was surprised by how well it has aged, but I'll be honest... this was my favourite show as a kid and my 100 is basically a nostalgia grab. I don't care though, I think loving a show so much as a kid has to count for something. It helps that it still made me laugh today. I can't help it, I think of ALF and I get warm, fuzzy feelings.

The 80's were nothing if not adventurous, when it came to original intellectual properties in the entertainment business. Blame this one on cocaine!

Just a bizarre idea in general, so props to green lighting something slightly different. Still just a situational comedy with more cat eating threats.

I remember this series a little fondly because, when I visited Germany in the eighties, there was a town named Alf. Curiously, several private homes and businesses had stuffed toy dolls of this character in their windows!

I don't find the consumption of cats that funny, but ALF was kinda out there. It helped shape the 1980s.

Alf was an interesting premise and I'm sure it lured some younger viewers into prime time watching in the 1980s. Occasionally the show was a little heavy-handed, and it lost steam after a few years. Still, it ended on a cliffhanger episode when it shouldn't have after NBC decided to pull the plug. The actors in the show definitely have some charm.

Good show. As he was an Alien and the Family hid him from the FBI. For the first few episodes anyways. Then like every other show the story lines go all over the place. Would have been cool if they stuck with hiding him all the time and develop a story from there that maybe the FBI captures him or something. Oh well good show though.

:-( 10 pts for novelty. That’s all though. This could have been the end of puppets. WAS IT WORTH THE RISK?!?!
