Unfair to rate as a series, each episode is made as a separate documentary with separate creators. I guess this is my aggregate rating but this gives no insight to the individual episodes that are among the greatest documentaries and episodes that are lazy biographies or corporate commercials.

I imagine that most of these shorts would be interesting even to those who are not sports fans. This is easily one of the best documentary series on television today. The worst episodes are watchable and the best episodes are among the best documentaries I have ever seen regardless of subject.

The crime ones are fantastic - OJ, Duke Lacrosse, etc. but the informational ones about basketball drafts are not for me

I am a sports guy, so generally I am easily entertained by this stuff. The series like most anthologies is erratic in its subject matter and quality.

This can't really be rated as a series, but I'll do it anyway. It has its ups and downs as much as anything, but the really great episodes are basically the pinnacle of sports documentaries. I've yet to come close to seeing all of them, but they're all on my list.
