"Idk why they had random romance at the end of the movie. Maybe there was a reason I missed."
85 72% Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) - Rated 14 Jun 2024
"My favorite of the series. I feel as though the weakest points of the series are how human’s are added into the equation. Ape conflict on its own is inherently interesting as it is synonymous with a new medium of displaying emotions, dialogue, and more. Fortunately, this movie still managed to make ape on human politics interesting. This along with the action and Caesar screaming makes this a must watch. If I had to make a complaint, it was the limitations in cgi and lighting."
80 58% Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) - Rated 14 Jun 2024
"Beautiful movie. Set the foundation for a fantastic series and set us up with plenty of information to understand ape and human conflict as well as ape on ape conflict. Knowing that character from the first movie persist throughout the series also helps in caring for the character and enjoying their presence. Overall, a thrilling movie blending the human side of the conflict along with the ape side of the conflict perfectly."
70 30% War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) - Rated 14 Jun 2024
"I’ll preface this by saying I watched all the Planet of the Apes. The movies are honestly so enjoyable to watch. Seeing the ape’s body language is very intriguing to interpret and I feel adds to the viewers experience and retention of character dynamics. Unfortunately, I felt as though the prior movies shined through their explorations of world building and small ape politics. This movie felt as though concentrated too heavily on human military conflict as opposed to something more ape focused"

65 24% The Boy and the Beast (2015) - Rated 31 May 2024
"The length could be cut down quite a bit and the pacing can definitely be improved. There are times where you feel like the movie has concluded 4 times, but still has 30 minutes left. Also, for a fighting movie, they chose to make a lot of the action off screen for some reason."
80 58% The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) - Rated 31 May 2024
45 10% Atlas (2024) - Rated 31 May 2024
"This movie is memorable not for its accomplishments in dialogue and pushing ai horror as a genre forward, but for its sheer ability to cause the viewer fall asleep or catch a severe case of buyer’s remorse. Every corner of this movie is plagued with terrible dialogue. Whether it be the room silencing jokes, one liners that could shut down grandpappy’s pacemaker, or movie logic that makes you question if even you or the screenwriters were paying attention at all. I am less now for my experiences."
